Ammar Idlibi - Pediatric Dentists versus General Dentists

May 25, 2016

Ammar Idlibi is a pediatric dentist who has been practicing for more than 20 years. He is highly experienced and very knowledgeable. He runs three large, specialized practices in the state of Connecticut, and he sells a fruit drink that is sugar free and artificial sweetener free. He worked hard to become a pediatric dentist and always strives to help his patients. Pediatric dentists go through a different education process than general dentists.

Every aspiring dentist must complete an undergraduate education in a field related to dentistry and then apply for dental school. In order to practice dentistry, an individual must earn ether a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DDM). These degrees demonstrate that an individual has studied dentistry. After earning this degree, a dentist will need to pass a licensing exam before he or she begins working.

Pediatric dentists have to take a few extra steps. After completing either a DDS or a DDM, a pediatric dentist candidate must enroll in an additional training program. Dental schools offer post-graduate programs in pediatric dentistry that often take two years. Aspiring pediatric dentists can also participate in a fellowship program to receive additional training.

Pediatric dentists are specialized professionals who go through additional years of training. It takes a lot of work to become either a dentist or a pediatric dentist. Ammar Idlibi studied at the University of Connecticut, School of Dental Medicine and Tufts University. He worked hard to become a pediatric dentist because he wanted to help children stay healthy.
